Delta Upsilon Raises Money and Volunteers for the Mustard Seed Street Church
The Alberta DU Chapter raised over 1000 dollars for the Mustard Seed located in downtown Edmonton, Alberta. The Mustard Seed is street church that supports homeless individuals with free food, drug counsuling and career support. The money raised went to purchase food to feed over 300 individuals for one night. After raising the money the entire active chapter went to the Mustard Seed to cook and prepare the meal. Finally we served and chatted with the guests.
Chapter Wins Order of Omega Highest GPA Award at Greek Formal:
Out of all the Greek Chapters at the University of Alberta Delta Upsilon boasted the highest GPA. With a solid 3.1 Delta Upsilon was happy to receive this award at the Greek Formal at Lister Hall on March 13th 2010. Thanks to all the active members worked hard to do well academically this semester and a special thanks to our VP Academic Yushan Huang.
DU team participates in Greek Week and Song Fest
The Delta Upsilon chapter put up a team of Patrick Spelliscy, Raphael Lepage Fortin, Vyto Jankauskas, Cameron Powell, and Chris Salloum. These 5 gentlemen participated in a week long competition from March 8th to 13th. Unfortunately they were not able to place, but still put up a good fight. Greek Week was also started off with the Song Fest Competition in which our entire active chapter participated and sung Viva La Delta U, and Viva La Vida by Coldplay. Our chapter had the largest group participating out of any other group.
DU wins 3rd Place in Annual Antifreeze Competition
The Delta Force team with members: Chuck Norris(Greg Holloway), Donnie(Chris Greenough), Midnight(Surya Thakur), Juicer(Raphael Lepage Fortin), Wildcat(Pat Spelliscy), and Stout(Graeme Stout) fought hard and won 3rd place out of 26 teams. They competed in the Avalanche league which involved 2 events every day from January 5th-9th. This competition is hosted by the University of Alberta's Students Union and has events including: snow sculpture building, a dodgeball tournament, and designing and modeling scandalous winter fashion.
